Historical Tourism

03

The Monastery of Sant Pere de Rodes rises on one of the peaks of the Serra de Rodes, a chain on the seafront north of the Alt Empordà. It is a testament to the Catalan Romanesque architecture of the 11th century and its splendor is shown in the large dimensions of the monastic complex.

From the monastery you can enjoy one of the best views of Cap de Creus. Shortly before arriving, there are the remains of the medieval village of Santa Creu de Rodes, including the church of Santa Helena de Rodes.

You can get there by car or on foot, an excursion of medium-high difficulty with different variants that can pass through the authentic village of La Vall de Santa Creu.
